Go ahead and take this the wrong way

And the results are in. Check out all those one star reviews (there are a lot of them) for Scarlett Johanson's album of trendy, overproduced cascading cold electronic versions of what were beautiful warm old-feeling Tom Waits songs. Slaughtered.

I'm going to get me some Wovenhand.

More than a little embarrassing that David Bowie was involved in that little project.

I was interested when I first heard. Skeptical, but interested nonetheless. After that first track released, I was instantly soured. I have no intention of torturing myself further.

But let's not quibble over bad music (unless we're reviewing it... oh shit). Tell me more about this Wovenhand. Dan and Frank introduced you to this, yes? I saw the video and am interested.

Perhaps this will also strike your fancy (released yesterday): http://www.thenationalboxer.com/film/

I am interested.

Hmm.

Looks like "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" done National style. I think Matt Berninger is very uninterested in video cameras and fame and very interested in alcohol and literature, hence not coming up to accept Plug Award.

I think I'll pick this little baby up and we'll schedule a watching.

Woven Hand is amazing. I just bought two albums from iTunes: Self-Titled and Mosaic.

What do they (he) sound like?

Gothic Indian Christian Cathedral Folk Rock of the Great American West with Propulsive Drumming and Soul-Opening Vocalisations
